On June 1st the South Shore Chapter of Massachusetts Citizens for Life was very pleased to hold the 2008 Awards Ceremony for the contestants of it's Pro-Life Essay Contest.   The contest, in it's second year, continues to grow.  Several students, from nine different middle schools and high schools took part.  Each contestant was invited to attend and all, whether they won a prize or not, received a token of appreciation for their dedication to life from the chapter.

The ceremony, which was held at St. Paul Parish in Hingham, had over 50 people attending.  The guests were inspired by the beautifully written essays read by their authors, the winners of the contest.  In the Middle School Division the winners were: 1st Place Maretta Morovitz from St. Francis Xavier School; 2nd Eliza McDonald, St. Ann School; 3rd Pierce Keough St. Paul School; 4th Eric Lam St. Ann School; and Honorable Mention Julia Rose Pumphrey, St. Jerome School.  The High School winners were: 1st Anastasia Flaherty, Notre Dame Academy; 2nd Elizabeth O'Malley, Cardinal Spellman; 2nd William Keough, BC High; 3rd James Dossett, BC High; 4th Julia Marley, South Shore Christian Academy; and Honorable Mention, Celeste Chen, Notre Dame Academy.
